Hamas and Fatah conclude meeting in China in unity and coordination

The Palestinian resistance movements Hamas and Fatah held a meeting in China where they agreed on the unity of the Palestinian position regarding the war in the Gaza Strip, and reaffirmed the importance of stopping the genocide and completely eliminating the presence of the occupation “army” in Gaza.

As reported to the media outlet “Al Mayadeen”, the parties also agreed to coordinate joint national efforts to provide aid and urgent assistance to the Gaza Strip by coordinating actions with the Gaza authorities, forming a bilateral committee in Cairo for the follow-up of the agreements.

They also joined positions and efforts in the West Bank and Jerusalem to confront Israeli settler attacks on towns and cities, as well as Zionist attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

During the meeting, they stressed the priority of the prisoners’ issue and the need to preserve their rights and support them at a time when they are suffering the worst types of torture and abuse inside Israeli prisons.

Also, the sources conveyed that Hamas and Fatah reaffirmed the need for unity and an end to division, within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization with the accession of all Palestinian groups and their institutions, based on previous agreements on this matter.

Both sides also noted the importance of forming a non-partisan national consensus government during or after the genocidal war, whose task would be to carry out humanitarian aid to Gaza, the elimination of the effects of aggression and the reconstruction of the strip.

This government would also work to unify Palestinian institutions and prepare for general elections, in order to remove the excuse of division used by Israel and the United States.

The sources confirmed that the meeting included an agreement on strengthening Palestinian unity with the help of China, which will contribute to ending the occupation and establishing Palestinian statehood in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem in accordance with international resolutions.

China’s Foreign Ministry stated that both sides expressed a political will to achieve reconciliation between the factions through dialogue, adding that they reached an agreement on ideas to achieve Palestinian unity as soon as possible.

Hamas and Fatah also expressed appreciation for China’s support for the Palestinian people.

Beijing invited the parties to hold talks on its territory and promote in-depth and sincere dialogue to achieve Palestinian reconciliation.
