Tensions between Israel and Hamas Escalate Again

According to Israel Defence Forces Chief of Staff Hertz Halevi, plans for the resumption of hostilities in the southern Gaza Strip were approved. The meeting, held at the Southern Command headquarters in Beersheba, approved future war plans and was attended by Major General Yaron Finkelman, Commander of the Southern Command, and other senior military personnel.

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed to increase pressure on Hamas to release Israeli hostages held in the Palestinian territories. These developments indicate that tensions in the region will rise further.

The Israeli government continues to insist on launching a ground attack on the city of Rafah in order to completely destroy Hamas. It is stated that this is the only way to increase diplomatic and military pressure, release the hostages and achieve victory. The developments in the coming days will further aggravate the situation in Gaza.
