Federal Agents’ Operation Sparks Protests in Minnesota

A person died yesterday during a shooting in the American city of Minneapolis in which federal immigration agents from the Customs and Border Protection Office participated, raising tension in that Minnesota city.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called on the White House to halt federal operations following a recent shooting involving federal agents. The incident, in which one person was wounded in Minneapolis, has reignited protests against ICE across the city.

A man was shot during an incident involving federal agents in southern Minneapolis, near Nicollet Avenue and 27th Street. The shooting led to clashes between protesters and federal forces, with witnesses reporting the use of chemical irritants. Governor Tim Walz described the incident as “disgusting” and urged the President to end federal operations in Minnesota. Authorities said an investigation is under way as protests against ICE are expected to continue.

Minnesota has once again become the target of federal violence. The armed attack carried out by federal agents in Minneapolis represents yet another link in the chain of repression against migrants and local communities. As Governor Tim Walz stated, these actions are unacceptable. Minnesota’s streets are not a zone of occupation for untrained and violence-prone federal forces. These operations must be halted immediately, and those responsible must be held to account.
