May 1 was celebrated with mass participation of workers and laborers in many cities of the world. The international working class and laborers covered the earth with their own colors in the May 1 celebrations of 2024.

While in some countries there was no obstacle to the exercise of this international right of workers, in some countries experiencing fascism conditions such as Turkey, it was prevented by bans, de facto obstacles and attacks by police forces. While the May 1 agenda in most countries was expressing solidarity with Palestine and demands against the ongoing wars and arms race, in many countries the bad economic conditions, falling workers’ wages, tax increases, inflation and decline in workers’ rights were expressed.

From the worn plaques and slogans, it is understood that the fact that politicians and administrators are far from the problems of the people is a common thought and feeling of the workers who participated in the May 1 march from Lebanon to Chile, from Sri Lanka to Berlin. Workers’ rights, wage increases, the return to the right and practice of collective bargaining, Palestine, Gaza, Ukraine, the inflationary crisis that pushes the border of war and hunger, and the bankruptcy of new liberal policies to 2024 were expressed through protests and shouts from the workers’ perspective.

The response of the governments in Chile and Turkey to these cries was to attack workers and laborers with tear gas and police batons.
