Outrage in Europe: Thousands march against genocide in Gaza

Thousands of people have marched in several European cities to denounce the genocide of the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip and express their support for Palestine.

As the 197th day of Israel’s war in Gaza passes, which has left more than 34,000 dead in the Palestinian enclave, protesters in Berlin, Dublin and Geneva demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and called on their governments to stop of sending weapons to the Zionist regime.

In the German city of Berlin , at least 12,000 people, despite the official ban, gathered in Potsdamer Platz square and marched to the Bundestag, the federal Parliament, chanting slogans such as “Germany finances the bombings of Israel.” , “What a shame” and “No to weapons for Israel.”

Protesters carried banners and signs with slogans such as “stop supporting Israel with my taxes” and “the Jewish community demands not to support genocide.”

Some protesters were temporarily detained for identity checks after allegedly chanting provocative slogans questioning the Zionist regime’s right to exist.

Thousands of people, gathered in the Garden of Remembrance Park in Dublin , the Irish capital, urged an end to Israel’s attacks on Gaza, holding banners with slogans such as “Boycott Israel’s apartheid” and “Freedom and justice for Palestine.”

The march, organized by the Palestine-Ireland Solidarity Campaign, involved various groups such as teachers, who carried Palestinian and Irish flags along Kildare Street.

In Geneva , thousands of people also filled the Place de Neuve and marched through the city center for hours carrying Palestinian flags and signs expressing their support for the Gazans.

The protesters, amid applause from neighbors, during their two-hour tour, frequently chanted slogans against the American president, Joe Biden, and the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

While people in various countries around the world take to the streets to demand an end to Israel’s atrocious crimes in Gaza, many of their governments support the Zionist regime with weapons and other means.
